Mary Walter attended
Framingham State College and The School of the Worcester Art Museum.
She has fostered her passion and
talent for quilt making for more than twenty years. Mary teaches
quilt making at her own quilt shop A Quilter's Garden within the
Southborough Arts Center in Southborough
Massachusetts and is an adjunct faculty member at The Worcester
Center for Crafts. In addition to her nationwide teaching and lecturing
schedule Mary is a National Quilting Association Certified Quilt Judge.
Exhibiting and commissioned art works are also a large part
of Mary's quilting background. Many of her quilts have won awards, and
are included in private and corporate collections in the United States
and Europe. Recently, Mary has been able to combine her quilt making
and travel throughout Wales to present an exhibit at The New England
Quilt Museum titled Welsh Quilting "Old Traditions New Art".
Mary is a founding member of the "Women Who Run With
Scissors" a group of contemporary Art quilters. She is also
a member of the New England Fiber Collective in Boston, Mass.
